I am 36 years old with two boys (10 and 6 years old). I am a certified rehabilitation registered nurse (CRRN) and work full time.
I have known Billy Yancey for over 20 years. I started training with him when I played competitive tennis in high school. I went on to play college tennis for a NAIA school, Flagler College and then a Division I school, Old Dominion University. I loved being competitive and leading an active lifestyle. My competitive tennis career ended after several physicians thought I had compartment syndrome leading to three surgeries that failed to improve the pain in my lower extremities.
After having my children and working as a nurse at CHKD, I found it even more challenging to find time to work out like I had in the past. My life was very stressful, and, like many Americans, I started leading an unhealthy lifestyle because it was easy. I completely lost the motivation to workout. It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom that I decided to contact Billy for his expertise. I knew that if anyone could motivate me and help me became healthier, it would be him! Billy is extremely passionate about helping people become healthier and fitter, he has the right amount of intensity, and he is honest. It was the hardest thing for me to do because I was ashamed of how I had let myself completely go and embarrassed by my appearance. It was also the BEST decision I have made for myself and my family. When I walked through his door on May 1st, 2012, I weighed 186 pounds and wore a size 12/14. I currently weigh 136 and wear a size 2!!
When I first started at ANABO, I struggled getting through an 18 minute workout. Billy motivated me, pushed me, and taught me to fight even when I wanted to quit! Not only did he provide a workout regimen that was appropriate for my condition at the time, he also helped me tremendously with improving my diet. I soon realized the fighting (both physically and mentally) was paying off by the results I was getting. My workouts progressed overtime from 18 minutes to 9 minutes and achieving the ultimate level of fitness by being part of XTrEAM team.
The wide variety of workouts continues to drive me back with eager anticipation to see what the next day holds! I look forward going to the gym every day and conquering the next challenge. Each workout releases a tremendous amount of stress for me. Knowing that I do some of the hardest workouts Billy has created, gives me a sense of accomplishment, I feel healthier, and stronger (both mentally and physically). Even with being a wife, a mother of two active boys, working full time, and completing my double Master’s degree, I never missed a workout. I didn’t have an excuse as to why I couldn’t spend 18 minutes total on improving myself. I strongly believe that ANABO has helped me relieve and handle stress better. Prior to ANABO, I channeled my stress and found unhealthy ways of dealing with it.
ANABO nutrition, “The Power of Nine,” is not a diet. It is a lifestyle change. It has taught me how to improve my food choices and make sound decisions. I knew that if I did not make nutritional changes, I would not see the physical changes I so desperately wanted. I jumped right in and made all of the changes at once and immediately started seeing changes.
ANABO has also benefited my 10 year old, Payton. He plays for a travel baseball team and is continually striving to improve his performance. After beginning the workouts, changes in my son occurred rapidly. A lot of people commented on how they noticed a change in his footwork, reaction time, and his focus. His teachers also noticed a difference in his attention span when working on assignments.
Billy ensures that the workouts are individualized for the client and that members are doing exercises properly in an effort to be the most effective and to avoid the potential for injury. If you have certain exercises you are unable to do, Billy adjusts and works with your limitations. He truly cares about every member and goes out of his way to help each member reach his or her goals. I am so thankful he created ANABO!!! It has changed my life!
